Ford Ranger Crashes into Pool in Mbombela

A white Ford Ranger crashed through a wall and landed in a resident’s swimming pool in Mbombela, leaving the occupants of the home in shock.

The incident occurred on the evening of 4 September in the West End. Local security companies were alerted to reports of reckless driving shortly before 8:00 pm, when the bakkie smashed into the rented residence of Kyle Scott in Aurora Street, Enterprise, Steiltes.

Scott and his wife were in their backyard at the time. Speaking to Lowvelder, he said: “We were sitting in our backyard when a vehicle crashed through the wall into our pool.” Despite their shock, the couple quickly alerted emergency services.

When responders arrived, it was confirmed that the driver had sustained only minor injuries. It is alleged that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Lowvelder also reported that a second vehicle was involved. Witnesses claim the Ford Ranger collided with a Mercedes-Benz before the driver lost control and ended up in the pool.
