Ingoma Festival Celebrates Culture, Heritage and Talent

The 2026 Ingoma Festival has come to a close after two inspiring days of celebrating culture, heritage and young talent at the eMalahleni Civic Centre.

The Department expressed its appreciation to learners, educators, unions, parents, adjudicators, officials, partners and cultural practitioners who helped make the festival a success.

Through song, dance, poetry and other cultural expressions, learners proudly showcased their creativity while celebrating the diversity of South Africa’s heritage.

The festival once again highlighted that education goes beyond the classroom, fostering Ubuntu, confidence, creativity and unity among young people.

Although this year’s festival has ended, its message remains: the rhythm of our heritage lives on.
