Overall Friday Operation Targets Crime in Mbombela

Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu led a multi-disciplinary Overall Friday Operation in Mbombela and surrounding areas on Friday, 18 September 2026.

The operation brought together SAPS, traffic law enforcement, Home Affairs, SARS, Correctional Services, private security and the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator.

Three teams were deployed across the city. The first, led by the Premier and senior officials, conducted compliance inspections at businesses and liquor outlets in the CBD, where counterfeit alcohol was confiscated.

The second team targeted taverns and liquor outlets in Mattafin, while the third conducted patrols, tracked wanted suspects and carried out checks on parolees.

The operation forms part of the province’s ongoing efforts to combat crime, enforce compliance and disrupt the sale of illicit goods.
