Six Arrested in Festive Operation

Six suspects aged between 19 and 38 were arrested in Acornhoek during a festive season disruptive operation conducted by police on Tuesday, 16 December.

The suspects were apprehended for various offences, including contravention of the Immigration Act of South Africa, possession of illicit cigarettes and possession of dagga.

The operation formed part of ongoing efforts by the South African Police Service, working with other law enforcement agencies, to combat crime during the festive season. During the operation, officers seized various items, including alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and dagga.

Police confirmed that detectives are working closely with officials from the Department of Home Affairs to verify the legal status of the arrested suspects.

All six suspects have been charged accordingly and are expected to appear before the Acornhoek Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
