Six Killed in Dullstroom Road Crash
A tragic collision on the R540 near Dullstroom on Sunday afternoon has claimed the lives of six people. The crash, which occurred at around 14:00, involved a GWM sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a minibus taxi in what authorities have described as a T-bone collision.
nnnnAll six victims, who died at the scene, were passengers in the taxi. A further eight people sustained serious injuries, including seven passengers and the SUV driver. The taxi driver suffered minor injuries. Those injured were rushed to a hospital in Belfast for medical treatment.
nnnnThe cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and an investigation is currently underway.
nnnnMpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Jackie Macie, urged motorists to exercise greater vigilance to prevent further loss of life on the province's roads.

"We remain deeply concerned by the number of fatalities caused by road crashes that could be avoided with more responsible driving. Motorists should always be mindful that their mistakes while driving could be devastating not only for them but for other road users," said Macie.
nnnnHe expressed disappointment that such a tragedy occurred during October Transport Month – a period dedicated to promoting road safety and responsible transport.
nnnn"This needs to change and motorists are an integral part of making the road safer," he added.
nnnnMacie conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
nnnnThe Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison is urging witnesses or anyone with information to assist authorities as investigations continue.
