Two Arrested as Police Seize Dagga Worth R2 Million in Nelspruit

Two suspects, aged 33 and 26, have been arrested after police seized 16 bales of dagga with an estimated street value of R2 million during an intelligence-driven operation in Nelspruit on Tuesday, 28 July.

The operation was carried out by the White River K9 Unit and the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit. Police also confiscated a Toyota Hilux single cab bakkie allegedly used to transport the drugs.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on charges of dealing in dagga.

Acting Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, praised the officers for their successful operation, saying police will continue targeting drug dealers to protect communities, particularly young people.
